Tanker goes ablaze in Rukpokwu, burns down two storey building in Port-Harcourt

Yesterday, the 31st of May 2019 saw a tragic event that calls for more road safety and caution in Port-Harcourt city, as a tanker lost control and went abaze in Rukpokwu, Port-Harcourt.

The incident which happened in the evening hours *at midnight, at about 1AM saw a two storey building go ablaze as it was close to the tanker which fell. This happened at Airport road, opposite NNPC filling station.

According to our source, the tanker which was filled with Petroleum, lost control and fell over before exploding. The owners of the tanker is yet to be confirmed, and our sources say no lives was lost.

This calls for attention as the state of Nigerian roads and the expertise of drivers has become a question, as we reported a similar event in the week, where a car lost control and ran into the Faculty of law, in River State University, destroying the building in the process.
