Win today, Lose Tomorrow: Chelsea advances 5-1 on aggregates

Chelsea overcame a sluggish start to book their spot in the Europa League last-16 with a comfortable 3️⃣-0️⃣ win over Malmo at Stamford Bridge.

Maurizio Sarri’s side were unable to breakdown their opponents with a lacklustre display as they couldn’t create scoring chances in the first half and ended 0️⃣-0️⃣ at Halftime.

N’Golo Kante’s driving run ended with Olivier Giroud tapping in an opener just before the hour mark.
From that point on, Sarri’s side grew in confidence with a beautiful Ross Barkley free-kick and an impressive Callum Hudson-Odoi strike finishing off the spirited visitors.
The Blues emerged with a 5️⃣-1️⃣aggregate triumph but in truth it did not tell the whole story as they struggled for creativity for much of the game.

It was nonetheless a much-needed win as they try to overcome their recent struggles, losing 0️⃣-2️⃣ and 6️⃣-0️⃣ to the two Manchester clubs, and under-fire boss Sarri will hope they can take confidence from their second half display heading into Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley.
